Head injury is found to cause permanent organic damage four years after the accident*

Question:
Is there the presence of a continuing organic injury rather than purely a psychological disorder.

Problem:
Head injury with Post concussive disorder leading to permanent cognitive impairments, difficulties with problem solving, complex reasoning, memory and attention. Client could no longer function at his prior level before the accident.

Complications:
Defendants medical practitioeners were claiming the cause was psychological. Comorbid conditions included depression, anxiety, sleep apnoea, high blood pressure, cholesterol, various medications.

Outcome:
By using our brain profiling techniques, we were able to differentiate the client's comorbid conditions from his traumatic brain injury. The client was found to have significant evidence for organic damage consistent with diffuse axonal shearing and it was concluded that these permanent impairments were leading to is loss of function in the work place.

Conclusion:
The case was successfully settled out of court in favour of the plaintiff. He was now able to obtain adequate treatment aimed at dealing with the real underlying cause of his condition.
